الملخص

تستقصي هذه الدراسة دور التكييف  (الصوتي) في تشكيل السلاسة المقبولة للمتلازمات اللفظية المكونة من الصفة والاسم في اللغة الإنجليزية. واعتماداً على منهجية قائمة على البيانات، يبحث هذا البحث في مدى تأثير الخصائص الصوتية، مثل البنية المقطعية، وأنماط النبر، والقيود التوزيعية للأصوات، على تفضيلات المتحدثين لتركيبات لغوية معينة دون بدائلها المكافئة لها دلالياً. ومن خلال دمج التحليل المستند إلى المدونات اللغوية وأحكام القبول اللغوي، تحلل الدراسة تركيبات متنافسة من الصفات والأسماء (مثل: strong tea في مقابل powerful tea، وheavy rain في مقابل strong rain) لتحديد ما إذا كانت السلامة الصوتية تسهم في شيوعها وسلاستها المقبولة. وتشير النتائج إلى أن التكييف الصوتي يعمل كقيد ثانوي ولكنه نظامي في اختيار المتلازمات اللفظية، حيث يتفاعل مع عاملي التكرار والدلالة (بايب، 2021). ويساهم هذا البحث في النقاشات الجارية بمدونات اللغويات وعلم الصوت عبر اقتراح نموذج تكاملي للسلاسة المقبولة للمتلازمات اللفظية، يدمج الاعتبارات الصوتية إلى جانب التفسيرات المعجمية والدلالية التقليدية (بيرهومبرت، 2022).
