This research does not aim to read Nizar Qabbani's poetry in light of cultural criticism. Rather, its mission lies in tracing Nizar Qabbani himself as a practitioner of cultural criticism in his poetic texts. This practice became evident through our exposure to a large body of poetry in which Nizar Qabbani engaged in criticizing the cultural reality and social and political values ​​within the structure of the poem itself. In other words, this research is primarily concerned with the phenomenon of cultural criticism in a way that allows us to find representations of cultural criticism and many of its tenets within the poetic process itself. Thus, when we read Nizar, we find ourselves confronted with a cultural criticism practiced creatively by the poet, after he had practiced it in some way in his prose and his press and television interviews. While critical activity acts as the aesthetic and ethical guardian of creative output—reading, evaluating, and guiding—this has not prevented poets with cultural awareness from fulfilling these roles through poetry itself. Their poetic consciousness views culture through the lens of both evaluator and critic. Here, the critical act merges with the poetic act itself, presenting the reader with what we might call a critical poem. In this research, we are specifically concerned with the poem that critiques culture, offering perspectives on culture and its outcomes in a creative manner. This approach possesses a significant critical viewpoint that identifies and analyzes cultural flaws, thus transforming the poem into both a creative and culturally critical text, while retaining its primary function as a creative work. This is an example of the poems we found in Nizar Qabbani's poetry, which, upon reading and analysis, reveal him to be a cultural critic to some extent, practicing this critical approach within his poetic creations. This is particularly noteworthy given that Nizar the poet was known for his critical stances in his prose writings and interviews. The journalist, as a creative individual, possessed a critical sense and social, political, and cultural convictions that seem to have permeated his poetic work, as we will detail later in this research.
