Aims and Scope
The Journal of Education for the Humanities is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the College of Education for Humanities, University of Mosul. The journal aims to support high-quality scholarly research in the humanities, educational studies, and related interdisciplinary fields. It seeks to provide a reliable academic platform for researchers, scholars, and postgraduate students to publish original research that contributes to knowledge, academic dialogue, and the development of humanistic and educational studies.
Aims of the Journal
The journal aims to:
- Publish original, high-quality, peer-reviewed research in the humanities and educational fields.
- Promote academic research that contributes to knowledge, critical thinking, and scholarly discussion.
- Support researchers from Iraq and other countries by providing a professional platform for academic publication.
- Encourage interdisciplinary studies that connect humanities, education, society, culture, language, history, geography, and related fields.
- Contribute to the development of scientific research standards at the local, regional, and international levels.
- Strengthen academic communication among researchers, universities, and research institutions.
- Promote ethical, transparent, and responsible scholarly publishing.
Scope of the Journal
The journal welcomes original research articles and scholarly studies within the fields of humanities, education, and related disciplines. The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Arabic language and literature.
- English language and literature.
- Education and educational sciences.
- Educational psychology and counseling.
- Curriculum and teaching methods.
- History and historical studies.
- Geography and geographical studies.
- Islamic studies and Quranic sciences.
- Social studies and related human sciences.
- Philosophy and intellectual studies.

The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research that falls within the general scope of humanities and educational studies, provided that the manuscript offers a clear scholarly contribution and follows the journal’s publication ethics and author guidelines.
Types of Manuscripts Considered
The journal considers the following types of manuscripts:
- Original research articles.
- Review articles, where appropriate.
- Theoretical and analytical studies.
- Applied educational and humanistic studies.
- Interdisciplinary studies related to the journal’s scope.
- Research derived from theses or dissertations, provided that it is prepared as an original article and complies with the journal’s requirements.
The journal may also consider conference papers only if they have been substantially revised, have not been published previously in full, and comply with the journal’s publication ethics, plagiarism policy, and submission requirements.
Manuscripts Outside the Journal’s Scope
Manuscripts may be rejected before peer review if they:
- Fall outside the aims and scope of the journal.
- Do not provide a clear scholarly contribution.
- Do not comply with the journal’s author guidelines or formatting requirements.
- Contain unacceptable levels of similarity or plagiarism.
- Have been published previously or are under consideration by another journal.
- Do not comply with the journal’s ethical and editorial policies.
The journal’s editorial team reserves the right to make an initial decision regarding the suitability of each manuscript for the journal before sending it to peer review.
