Abstract
This research aims to review the phenomenon of structural parallelism in the poetry of Tamim Al-Barghouti, because of the aesthetic value that this type of parallelism contains in the poetic and creative process and its important role in creating textual harmony and cohesion because it results from congruence or similarity in the compositional structure, as well as agreement in the semantic structure. The descriptive analytical method was employed in this research by presenting some syntactic parallel models in the imperative sentence in the collections of Tamim Al-Barghouti (In Jerusalem and the Maqam of Iraq). We will stop at the grammatical and semantic analysis of these models and determine the type of syntactic parallelism contained in them, whether it is complete or partial, and explain the effect. Parallelism in connotation and meaning and its relationship to rhythm.
This research came within three axes: the first: represented by defining the concepts of parallelism and syntactic parallelism, the second represented by presenting an overview of the poet’s life and his collections, while the third dealt with syntactic parallelism in the imperative sentence in the poetry of Tamim Barghouti
