Complaints and Appeals Policy

The Journal of Education for the Humanities is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and in a timely manner. Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may submit complaints or appeals related to editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, or published content.

Complaints

Complaints may relate to editorial procedures, delays, reviewer conduct, ethical concerns, published articles, conflicts of interest, or other matters related to the journal’s publication process.

Complaints should be submitted in writing to the journal’s editorial office and should include a clear description of the issue, supporting evidence where available, and the contact details of the complainant.

Handling of Complaints

The editorial office will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and refer it to the appropriate editor or editorial committee. The complaint will be reviewed fairly and confidentially. The journal may contact authors, reviewers, editors, institutions, or other relevant parties to obtain further information.

The journal will make reasonable efforts to respond to complaints within an appropriate timeframe. Complex cases may require additional time for investigation.

Appeals Against Editorial Decisions

Authors may appeal an editorial decision if they believe that a decision was based on a misunderstanding, factual error, procedural error, or unfair assessment. Appeals must provide clear academic reasons and supporting evidence.

An appeal does not guarantee that the editorial decision will be changed. The journal may consult additional editors or reviewers before making a final decision. The decision after appeal is considered final.

Complaints Against Editors

If a complaint concerns the conduct of an editor, the matter should be reviewed by another qualified member of the editorial board or by an appropriate editorial committee. The editor concerned should not be involved in handling the complaint.

Confidentiality

All complaints and appeals will be treated confidentially. Information will be shared only with individuals directly involved in reviewing and resolving the matter.
