برزت بلاد آشور كقوة عالمية من القرن العاشر حتى القرن السادس قبل الميلاد فتمكن ملوكها من فرض سيطرتهم على مناطق شاسعة من العالم القديم، فامتدت الخارطة السياسية للمملكة الآشورية الحديثة ما بين (911- 612 ق.م) من البحر المتوسط (البحر الأعلى) غرباً حتى الخليج العربي (البحر الأسفل) جنوباً، ولتسليط الضوء على التوسع الآشوري في الجزيرة العربية اخترنا هذا الموضوع للدراسة، معتمدين على تحليل نصوص الحوليات الملكية الآشورية فضلاً عن المشاهد الفنية ذات العلاقة بموضوع البحث.
